Koide design and manufacture beautifully engineered plastic parts and lenses for the Automotive industry. They commissioned us to create a sculpture for their head office to showcase some of their components, in an inspiring and engaging way.
Over 500 lenses were hand drilled and mounted on to stainless steel supports, each at different lengths so that the lenses appeared to hover in space, echoing the shape of a sports car. Just like the product itself, our sculpture had to be produced to exacting specifications.
The whole sculpture was mounted on a wooden base, with a stainless steel casing and toughened spray finish. Miniature DMX-controlled light fixtures on each corner illuminated the piece in a blaze of colour.
